Pesce Crudo

I just love it when food comes to the table with a face on it. It is not always socially acceptable for such a thing to happen; case in point, this little piggy at Roscioli. But why shouldn’t we be served the whole animal? Especially seafood which is so much prettier in its shell than out. Here are some gorgeous crustaceans at Al Fontego dei Pescatori in Venice last month. Pure raw fish beauty.

When I look at my food I don’t want it to look back at me:)

I think that once you’ve dropped a live lobster into a pot of boiling water, it’s easier to make eye contact with food. LOL
