Katie will be taking Food of the Italian South to A16’s Rockridge (Oakland) location. She is particularly excited about this event because the A16 cookbook and the whole south Italy theme of A16 vibe so perfectly with FOIS. Not to mention, photographer Ed Anderson shot both cookbooks and the plated food shots in FOIS were taken at just a 10 minute walk away at George Dolese’s studio in South Berkeley.
A16’s executive chef Nicolette Manescalchi will prepare a multi-course, family-style dinner with recipes from the cookbook, and wine director Shelley Lindgren will pair each course with a wine from the Italian South. Parla, who is based in Rome, will be on hand to meet guests and sign cookbooks.
