Join us on a walking tour around the Centro Storico and Trastevere to discover some of the best wine destinations in town! During this tour we’ll visit historic enoteche as well as modern wine bars, enjoying a glass of wine at each stop. We'll focus on "natural wine"—wine that has been made with minimal chemical intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar (because the vast majority of wine on the international market does not fall into this category!). Unfiltered sparkling wines, white wines made with long maceration on the skins, and reds produced in terracotta amphorae are just some of the categories we may taste while comparing delicious (and affordable) bottles. We will also address the controversies surrounding Italian wine labeling, seek even more of a definition for the elusive term "natural wine," and walk through some of Rome’s gorgeous backstreets to discover some well known sites as well as well-kept secrets. Rate excludes the cost of food and beverages consumed during the tour, allowing the sommelier to tailor selections to the wine list, seasonal availability, and guests’ preferences.
