Ciambella al Cioccolato Revisited


You may recognize this ciambella al cioccolato from a previous post. It has become somewhat of a ritual for my friend Rob and I to grab a slice of this dense chocolate bunt cake to have as a snack while we work on revamping my old website. This time around, we added milk to the equation and (obviously) what a magical pairing it turned out to be. Everything about it made me question why I don’t drink milk with more snacks. I can’t even remember the last time I drank a glass of milk! Wait, it was actually January 25 when I ate a box of cookies from Levain Bakery. Damn those were good. But I digress…Today, Panificio Monti’s ciambella was particularly dense and what better than a tall glass of milk to wash down the chocolatey goodness?

      Sarah, Have you tried this place? It’s on Via Urbana in Monti, heading towards Termini from the Cavour Metro stop. Stopped by today for some more carbs and more shots of food.

    Could you imagine the Italians drinking a glass of milk with their ciambella? Probably not…but they are surely missing out on a classic taste combination!

    @Rob You have a point, sir.

    @Tom Not in a million years. Unless that milk had hot coffee in it. Milk and cake is truly one of the most incredible beverage-food pairings known to man.
