Bistro de la Gare, Coming Soon

Later this month, Chefs Maryann Terillo (formerly of Jarnac) and Elisa Sarno (formerly of Babbo) will open their Bistro de la Gare at 626 Hudson Street. There, these two celebrated chefs will blend their French and Italian culinary influences and serve “a market driven menu” composed of quality seasonal ingredients. They will tap the best local purveyors like Ottomanelli Meats and Il Laboratorio del Gelato, and all of the bread and pasta will be made fresh on the premises. Some dishes we can look forward to are: Grilled Chicken Breast Salad with House Roasted Peppers and Marinated Mushrooms, Hamburger on Housemade English Muffin with Mixed Green Salad or Hand-cut Fries, Housemade Bucatini with Pork Ragu, and Braised Brisket Sandwich on Kaiser Roll. Regrettably, I will not be able to make it to Bistro de la Gare’s opening on January 20, but expect a review as soon as I come back to the States. This place promises to be great with these two enthusiastic and experienced women at the helm.

You can follow the trials, tribulations, and successes of opening a restaurant in NYC on Maryann and Elisa’s blog here.

Looks good – we’ll check it out when it opens. Also, everyone is doing some sort of olive oil cake now. YUMMY!

I wanted to go to Bistro De La Gare for Valentines Day with my special Friend!!
I called for Res. and was told I should wait Only because they had no heat for the stove,
So I waited till the following week-end and we went,
I am so happy I did!!
The Cassoulet was to die for,Large,Meaty, Hot and very filling,
All I wanted to do after eatting it was curl up with a good book and soft Music and go to sleep.
I also have to admit I fell in Love with my side Order Of Polenta, In fact I almost broke down and Lick the Plate,
We brought a bottle of wine from our collection and Our Waiter was Just Superb, with service
    that was Just Perfect!!!!
Bistro De La Gare Is just About Perfect for the comming New York Season (All Four of them)
