The March issue of Conde Nast Traveler features Tasting Rome and a fun (if brief!) Rome guide by me and my pal Mario Batali. As part of their book coverage, CNT asked me to track down Rome-style pizza places in NYC. Here’s the first installment, a visit to Marta in Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood where chef Joe Tarasco bakes the signature thin crusted personal pizzas of the Italian capital garnished with Rome-inspired toppings. You can check out the second installment here.

Love, love, love the carbonara pizza @ Marta. We have a small, wood-fired pizza oven at home, so we are pretty particular about our pizza, and theirs is great.
