OMG Food of the Italian South is out today! It feels like this book has been so long in the making (possibly because it has?) and I can hardly believe it’s finally hitting bookstores in less than 48 hours. Over the past 3 months, while the book was being printed, I was organizing the first of several book tour legs. The first hits the road on publication day.
I can’t imagine a better place to start than Fiorella in Rochester. Owners Alison and Gino Ruggiero are not only amazing they are also really rooted in the food of the south Italy. Gino’s family is from Campania and I can only assume that a dozen or more of his family members will be at Fiorella to welcome me back. The tour then heads to the Midwest, then the Mountains, then the West Coast before heading back East to NYC, DC, NJ, Boston, Providence, and a bunch of PA locations. And if you don’t see your town listed, let me know (btw I plan to visit Seattle, Portland, and various southern locales, as well as Toronto and Montreal)! I have summer and fall tour legs in the works already and I’ll be updating my events page and Food of the Italian South cookbook page regularly as events are confirmed.
